Buds on the trees proving Spring is here but a chill in the air and snow will fly tonight into tomorrow. Boo Hoo.

Surprisingly Spring

My whole life has been a fraud
Within the neighborhood, Meg and I walked / ran through the park I played at as a kid. It had become dark at 1930 and Meg had trouble finding me in the middle of the baseball field. She ran, her eyes glowing, towards me as I crouched down to catch her. We rounded the corner and I stared at a house I had been in many times before.

Those neighbors! They never cease to remind me of what holidays are coming up!

Walking down the road I spotted my breath as I breathed out and a speed reminder.
Don’t follow me I’m lost

‘Hello I am a female turkey. Did you know male turkeys are all named ‘Tom’? I’m not really sure where I am but I keep moving as not to scare my youngens’.

I feel safe here among the trees and weeds. I have injured my leg somehow but I do not show predators my injury. I don’t want them to think I’m easy prey.

I look off to the East, watch the sunrise, and wonder what the future entail for wild turkeys of this nation?

One can only hope I heal fast and raise my poults to fly higher even though Turkeys aren’t supposed to be able to fly. LOL!

You kids have so much energy – you made me feel like I was 1 instead of 3! I don’t know when I’ll see you again, but that’s how life unfolds, isn’t it? So goodbye, Internet – miss u/<3 u (did I say that right?) xoxo ‘
A bird unable to fly
While sitting outside yesterday I spotted an injured Turkey with two babies following behind it.

By the time I went to the field they were gone. I wondered if I should call the wildlife rehabilitation center where we took the injured rabbit in April.
I did however, find this sign rather amusing. But I guess that’s the consequences of life on social networking sites taking over the world.
Sloppy sticky day ahead
I guess it must of been around three when the wind woke me from sleep. I heard thunder in the distance. Then I heard the rain against the roof and then complete silence. The power went out. I had only been sleeping for two hours and for the rest of the night sleep was very spotty. Trees whispered against the strong winds and dizzying darkness plagued me.

It was a perfect opportunity to stop at a popular coffee shop poised to take over the world as I took mom to Adult Day Care.

During my morning walk there was evidence of a bad storm. The ice cubes began to melt together. The power finally came back on after eight and half hours without it.

I hope this cicada would continue it’s song of summer. Even though the storms of summer were in full force I knew cooler temperatures and falling leaves were just around the bend.
Dreams have been crushed and abandoned

World Cup mass hysteria ensues. When the Germans and all the other countries sing their national anthem and hold each other close, I develop a temporary breathing and swallowing problem.

A very bad storm tumbled through fueled by seventy degree dew points while I watched the game. A quick flash of lightening crackled and the very instant it cracked it thundered extremely loud. Nova ran through the house with his ears cocked to the side. Stella ran under the kitchen table for comfort. Meg looked at me like “that sounded bad.” I assured her things were ok. The power went out that very instant and my head began to throb.

A very special visitor took solace inside our woodpile and munched on our weeds. This is the second time we’ve noticed it in our front yard.
